What was life like before you met Jesus?

I am fortunate to have been raised in a Christian home, so I had a great foundation. I strayed from that during high school and college. For the most part, the things I chased to find satisfaction and joy were alcohol and partying with friends. I believe the foundation I had helped keep me pretty tame comparably, but I certainly drank too much and wasn't satisfied in myself without that. I was lacking the stability I needed because I wasn't praying, going to church much, or reading scripture - I felt disconnected from God.

How did you meet Jesus?

I am not completely sure when or how exactly I came to have faith in Jesus, as I don't have the moment in time when I realized it. I think the great foundation I had allowed me to grow in Christ once I was out of college and married. The moment I became more serious in my relationship and growth in Christ was when Kim became pregnant with our first child. I knew we needed to find a church locally and begin regular attendance to ensure we would raise our children to know, love, and obey Christ. That set the journey anew.

After being saved by Jesus, what is your life like now?

Jesus meets my needs through stability in life. I know that in spite of the struggles of everyday life, he is the foundation that gives joy to the great things in life and carries me through the challenges. I strive to be in God's Word most days. I am currently reading through the Bible in a year, the second year in a row, and the third time I have done that. Though there are many, one verse that reflects my knowledge of eternal life through Jesus is Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
