What was life like before you met Jesus?
I don't remember a lot from what my life was like before I met Christ. I know that I was a sinner, lost in the world and I didn’t really understand what the purpose for my life was. I was very young and had a lot of thoughts about what happens after death, but I never really asked anyone for the answers.
How did you meet Jesus?
I was about 6 years old when I asked Jesus to be in my heart. I was sitting outside with my brother on our swing set one night, and we were talking about God. I had grown up in a Christian home and was constantly around people talking about God, but I always kind of tuned it out and brushed it off. I was asking him questions and he said, “Eva, I think you should ask Jesus into your heart.” We talked about it a little more and what it means, and I decided I would do that right then and there! We called my mom outside and we all prayed together. I had trusted God in that moment and felt the biggest sensation once I had finished my prayer. I just felt so warm, and safe and I knew that God was in control of my life. Romans 3:23-24 says “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”.
After being saved by Jesus what is your life like now?
When I look back at my life ever since I accepted Christ, I have been strong, joyful and so confident in who I am in Christ. I see him show up in my life all the time. I see him working through me to reach others and to spread some light to others who might need it. Our world and society are so sinful and dark, but I have hope. Instead of having the feeling of fear and dread, I am so excited for the future. Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Jesus Christ from the law of sin and death.”
