What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before Jesus I was a two faced, selfish human trying to do everything right in order to be socially acceptable. I would do anything and everything for myself and the needs I wanted to pursue. I was also emotionless. I had no care in the world besides being socially acceptable. My family and I got kicked out of our church which led to not wanting to think about Jesus and only wanting to do things that benefitted me. I went through a lot of ups and downs throughout this time.
How did you meet Jesus?
I saw the good works of Jesus through my Connection Group (and amazing friends) in Salt Company. This past month I attended the Fall Retreat and I realized and saw the literal works through my friends. I have read Scripture but then to see what you read come to life through some of your closest people is mind blowing and beautiful. I was dealing with some pretty negative stuff – bad habits of trying to fit in and selfish benefits. I desired some of my friendships to be really solid but they turned out to be rough and not true friendships. My really close friends shared with me that the only relationship I need is with God. Jesus is walking with me through this.
After being saved by Jesus what is your life like now?
After placing my trust in Jesus, I have been able to accept myself and have felt less insecure knowing there is no judgement through God. Thanks to Jesus I have a stable relationship with God.
