What was life like before you met Jesus?

I met Jesus when I was a little girl, around 8 years old. I remember swinging from a disk swing in the backyard, looking at the sky and the world around me, knowing that the world was broken. I had faith that everything was going to be okay because Jesus was going to fix it. As I grew, my faith became stifled by this broken world around me. I got swept into peer pressure and pleasing others, coping with alcohol and drugs, looking to belong and be loved by anyone who could fill the void in my heart, and making idols out of worldly things and people.

How did you meet Jesus?

When I became pregnant with my daughter, I realized that I didn't like the woman that I had become. I knew that I needed to change. On the day my daughter was born, the truth of Jesus Christ being my savior was solidified and I knew I needed to rekindle my relationship with him. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

After being saved by Jesus what is your life like now?

After making a new commitment around 12 years ago, Jesus began to slowly bring me closer into step with him. I have a new beginning with him - a clean slate! I began to succeed in my daily walk and I recognized the people that Jesus placed in my life to help encourage and lead me closer to him. My anxiety, fears and addictions slowly faded away. It's not that I don't still struggle, but I know that Jesus knows the beginning from the end and he's in control....thy will, not my will. "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34
