What was life like before you met Jesus?

I was raised going to church but I never really had a connection with Christ until last year. My mom would pray with me about everything. I would go to her with things that were bothering me and she would say, “let’s pray about it.” All my life I struggled with fear and anxiety over certain things and I would let her do the praying. My mom pointed me to Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with my right hand of righteousness.” I now wear an anklet that says FEAR NOT! After I accepted Christ into my life I knew no matter where I am or what I am doing or when I start to feel anxious and afraid I have my own personal connection with Christ and can go to him to help me through anything.

How did you meet Jesus?

Last year, the more I went to youth and heard more, my personal connection with Jesus became stronger. We learned a lot about Moses’ life last year. Throughout Moses’s life God was always with him. Moses trusted him. Even when the unthinkable God proved to him time and time again that putting all of his trust in him God would make a way. I would have nightmares, trouble sleeping, get upset stomachs from so much letting my fear control me. It kept me from doing fun things with my friends and even almost kept me from coming to Youth. When I started praying and putting my trust in Christ he helped keep that fear and anxiety away. Philippians 4:6-7 says “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Christ.”

After being saved by Jesus what is your life like now?

I am more confident in myself knowing that I am a child of God. I want to make it publicly known that I want to live my life for Christ. I am putting my trust in Christ. My fears and anxiety will no longer control me and keep me from doing things that might have held me back. I will trust Christ to help guide me as I continue to live my life as a Child of God. 1 Peter 1:21 says “Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great Glory.”
