What was life like before you met Jesus?
I was a very boastful person. I had a very bad tendency to put other people down to make myself feel better. I had a leader my freshman year, Will Cook, who started to challenge me to stop giving right answers and start giving real answers. This really challenged me to get out of my self obsessed bubble and opened my eyes to my total depravity. At the end of my freshman year, I had unknowingly put myself into some bad situations and had some difficult things to deal with. These things lead me to start to truly trust and follow God.
How did you meet Jesus?
I started following Jesus because I realized that I relied way too much on earthly things, especially my friends. Last year I had a lot of really close friends I relied on and at the beginning of the summer most of them were no longer in my life. It felt like a slap in the face, but I soon realized that it was God showing me that I needed to rely on him and no one else. Proverbs 9:7-11 was very impactful to just reminding me that God is all powerful.
After being saved by Jesus what is your life like now?
I want to be baptized to publicly proclaim my love for Jesus.
