What was life like before you met Jesus?
Before Christ, my life had spiraled out of control – absentee father/husband, broken marriage, out of control children, suffering from health issues and depression. I was caught in an endless cycle of trying to fix my own problems and everything I did only made things worse.
How did you meet Jesus?
Eventually, I ran out of options and hope. Conceding that my life was about to end in tragedy, I spent a week in the mountains to consider my fate. It was during this trip that Christ was revealed to me through the book of Romans, especially Romans 6:23. As I considered the wages of sin, I realized that God had always been there. He had always wanted a relationship with me and had provided that through the sacrifice of His son so that I could be reconciled to Him.
After being saved by Jesus what is your life like now?
When I returned from my trip, I was truly a "new creation". As I let go of what the world had been offering me, Christ filled that void with love, mercy and hope. He sent me mentors to walk with me and to Veritas where I am fed spiritually every week. I can fully dwell on Philippians 4:6 in that I have a "peace that surpasses all understanding".
